His talk, entitled “The Ashley Case Revisited: Reflections on Health Care Decision-making,” will highlight issues surrounding this controversial case involving procedures performed on a severely disabled girl designed to ease the burden of those supporting her. :: read more

Ezekiel Emanuel to Speak at 2008 Bander Endowed Lecture Ezekiel Emanuel, MD, PhD will be the speaker at the 2008 Bander Endowed Lecture on Friday, November 7th at 7:30 a.m. in the LRC Auditorium at the Saint Louis University Medical School, as a part of the Department of Internal Medicine Grand Rounds. Emanuel is Chair of the Department of Bioethics at the National Institutes of Health and has published books and numerous articles on topics including the ethics of clinical research, the ethics of managed care, and the patient-physician relationship. |
