Emily E. Anderson, PhD, MPH
Instructor, Certificate Program

Emily Anderson is Project Director at the Institute for Health Research and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). She holds a PhD in health care ethics from Saint Louis University where she also completed a certificate in quantitative and qualitative empirical research. In 2006-2007, she was a Senior Fellow in the Institute for Ethics at the American Medical Association. Her areas of expertise include ethical issues in research with vulnerable populations, research ethics and IRB policy, and the application of qualitative research techniques to the study of research ethics. Dr. Anderson has published articles in the journals Academic Medicine, Drug and Alcohol Independence, Accountability in Research, and the Journal of Empirical Research on Human Research Ethics and has presented at conferences of the American Public Health Association and the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities. Dr. Anderson is a member of the UIC Institutional Review Board (#3) and a member of the advisory board for the Regulatory Knowledge and Support Core of UIC's Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS).
