The optional concentration in Catholic Health Care Ethics will familiarize participants in the Certificate Program with the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services (ERDs), its underlying principles, and traditional applications. Participants who pursue this optional concentration complete the same Certificate Program as other participants except that they register for Foundations of Catholic Health Care Ethics (HCE.G503) as one of the elective courses. (See Course Descriptions for information on which courses are electives.) Supplementary or replacement readings for other courses will be provided to examine ethics cases in the context of the Catholic tradition.
Participants in the Catholic concentration may register for the course replaced by HCE.G503 for an additional 1 credit hour tuition, or they may audit the course for $50.
